When she appears on the red carpet and does not assure us with her teeth that she is simply thrilled to be reduced to a presence, a dress, a posture, she is often the target of harassment for her expression. There is an expectation of women in general and famous woman in particular to always assure the onlooker that they are happy to be looked upon through smiling, and Stewart rejects this.”

A woman who says ‘hey, I think there’s a problem here’ is being ‘negative.’ A woman who doesn’t smile while she’s being harassed is ‘humorless.’ A woman who prefers to stay focused on tasks is a ‘cold bitch.’ Significant gendering is involved here; women have an obligation to look and act a certain way and when they don’t, they need to be hassled until they do.

Random thoughts of a blonde nerdy girl:

mk. soooo last night I was talking to the bf on the phone and he blankly told me I was not invited to his dad’s wedding in March. I immediately felt uber hurt and didn’t comment on it. Tbh I do not blame his family for not wanting me there. They have invited me out several times for dinner and to come over for family events but I always turn them down. Its honestly not because I am a bitch…It’s just in the past I have dealt with severe social anxiety. I would avoid crowds at all costs..and felt uber sick to my stomach when hanging out with strangers as I would feel so uncomfortable. I am loads better now…considering I am in uni and have to deal with the crowds and strangers. I have ofc hung out with his family over this past year..just not to the extent I should have…..le sigh* I always mess things up :PPPP still feeling down about it….hence why tomorrow for valentines day I intend to watch cheesy chick flick movies alone which will hopefully make me cry while eating out of the stereotypical tub of vanilla icecream which girls usually tend to eat while sad and pondering life. :P
